By: Nicsa Content Steering Committee
The issues shaping asset and wealth management rarely fit neatly within a single business function. Artificial intelligence raises questions across technology, data, compliance, operations, and talent. Tokenization touches product development, servicing, regulation, and investor education. Private markets require coordination across distribution, administration, technology, and the investor experience.
For Nicsa, that interconnectedness creates an important opportunity: bring professionals from across the industry together to identify shared priorities and turn conversations happening within individual committees into broader industry dialogue.
Nicsa’s committee network brings together professionals across a wide range of disciplines and business lines. The Content Steering Committee helps to connect that expertise. Membership includes representation from across Nicsa’s committees, creating a forum where leaders can look beyond their individual areas of focus and identify issues with broader implications. The result is not simply more communication between committees. It is an opportunity to connect the dots across the industry.
A Shared View of Industry Priorities
At the center of the committee’s effort is Nicsa’s Content Framework, a strategic reference guide designed to identify shared, cross-vertical priorities that matter to a broad spectrum of Nicsa members and to identify opportunities for collaboration across committees.
The latest Framework identifies six focus themes with implications for member firms:
| Focus Themes: | Asset Management | Wealth Management | Service Providers | Collaboration Opportunity |
| AI Transformation & Infrastructure | Enterprise AI integration, data governance, and operating efficiency | Portfolio construction, personalization, and transparency | Modernization of end-to-end operational workflows | Shared infrastructure readiness, governance, and industry standards |
| Tokenization & Digital Assets | Tokenization pilots, product innovation, governance models, and operational implications | Digital assets within retirement, longevity, and diversification planning | Recordkeeping, compliance, and operational support for tokenized products | Industry education, operational standards, and regulatory alignment |
| Private Markets & Product Innovation | Interval funds, tender offer funds, private credit, and public-private partnerships | Greater exposure via registered products; need for clarity and integration | Platforms and servicing for hybrid and complex product structures | Advisor-ready delivery, data transparency, and operational frameworks |
| Share Classes & Scalable Operating Models | ETF share class evolution, conversions, and launch strategies | Client demand for liquidity, access, and simplicity across wrappers | Scalable servicing, conversions, and regulatory readiness | Best practices for multi-wrapper and ETF operating models |
| Geopolitical Drivers & Regulatory Evolution | Regulatory governance (e.g., proxy reform, global data privacy regs) | Investor concerns, product preferences, communications | Regulatory compliance (e.g., Accessibility, ERISA/non-ERISA compliance, proxy reform) | Geopolitical updates and regulatory interpretations |
| Human Capital & Inclusion in Finance | Talent strategy, leadership development, and workforce transformation to support innovation | Advisor talent, next-gen workforce development, and evolving client demographics | Skills evolution, reskilling, and workforce enablement for technology-driven change | Inclusive cultures, talent attraction and retention, succession planning, and workforce readiness |
Rather than treating an emerging issue as belonging to one committee or function, this cross-vertical perspective helps Nicsa members consider how the same development may create different challenges and opportunities across the industry.
A Broader Conversation for a Changing Industry
The Content Steering Committee and Content Framework reflect an important principle behind Nicsa’s committee model: some of the industry’s most valuable conversations happen when expertise crosses functional lines. By bringing committee leaders together around common priorities, Nicsa can help surface different perspectives, identify areas of shared interest, and create opportunities for members to learn from peers beyond their immediate disciplines.
Human Capital as an Industry-Wide Business Priority
The evolution of the workforce is a particularly clear example of how these priorities intersect. These issues connect directly with Inclusion in Finance North America, Nicsa’s cross-company initiative focused on strengthening the asset and wealth management industry through inclusion and cognitive diversity. The initiative brings firms together around talent, culture, leadership, and opportunity, with the goal of improving decision-making, supporting innovation, and driving stronger long-term business outcomes. Inclusion in Finance North America provides a forum for firms to examine many of the human capital issues reflected in Nicsa’s Content Framework.
