2000 NICSA/William T. Black Scholarship Awards

NICSA Chairman Alan D. Greene announced the names of the recipients of the 2000 NICSA/ William T. Blackwell Scholarships at the May General Membership Meeting in Boston. Eleven students were selected by the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of America from an outstanding field of applicants and each will be awarded a scholarship for post secondary education.

The 2000 recipients of the NICSA/William T. Blackwell Scholarship award are:

Sarah Brown, of Mansfield, MA, plans to attend Brown University in Providence, RI, majoring in Journalism. Her NICSA member parent is Margaret Brown of State Street Bank.

Catherine Fawls, of Milton, MA, plans to attend the University of Scranton in Scranton, PA, majoring in Pysical Therapy. Her NICSA member parent is Robert Fawls of Basis Point Group.

Jeffery Fox, of Houston, TX, plans to attend Davidson College in Davidson, NC, majoring in Neurology/Pre-med. His NICSA member parent is John Fox of AIM Management.

Rachel Gerber, of Peabody, MA, plans to attend Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, majoring in Elementary Education. Her NICSA member parent is Irwin Gerber of Investors Bank & Trust.

Erin Hayes, of Millburn, NJ, plans to attend Boston College in Chestnut Hill,MA, majoring in Education. Her NICSA member parent is Michael Hayes of Citibank.

Scott Lydon, of Milford, NH, plans to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, majoring in Engineering. His NICSA member parent is Richard Lydon of Bowne & Co., Inc.

Brenda McDaniel, of Bellingham, MA, plans to attend Salem State College in Salem, MA, majoring in Education. Her NICSA member parent is Susan McDaniel of Putnam Investments.

Lisa Ortiz, of Brandon, FL, plans to attend the University of Miami in Miami, FL, majoring in Pre-med/Biology. Her NICSA member parent is Edwin Ortiz of T. Rowe Price.

Andrea Paulo, of Saugus, MA, plans to attend Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, majoring in Sociology/Government. Her NICSA member parent s Ann Marie Paulo of Massachusetts Financial Services.

Mark Smith, of Topeka, KS, plans to attend John Brown University in Siloem Springs, AK, majoring in Computer Science. His NICSA member parent is Rebecca J. Smith of Securities Management Company.

Lily Wang, of Medfield, MA, plans to attend Brown University in Providence, RI,
majoring in Biophysics. Her NICSA member parent is Ina Chien of Putnam Investments.

Established by the Board of Directors in May of 1995 as a tribute to Bill Blackwell's commitment to NICSA and to the mutual fund industry, the NICSA/William T. Blackwell Scholarship Fund is endowed through donations by individuals and NICSA member companies.
